More details can be seen in the link below about the importance of having a flu vaccination: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/543624/PHE_9901_Flu_Vaccination_A5_booklet_Winter2016_17.pdf
Testvale Surgery Flu vaccination dates
Booking for the flu vaccination clinics will open to our patients on 1 September 2017. There will be lots of clinics available to choose from on week days if you are able to get to the surgery, or at evenings and weekends and so there will be availability at a time to suit you.
Electronic text message reminders
This year, the surgery will be sending patients text message reminders for flu vaccinations, as well as our letters. If you want to receive this message, please make sure you have informed the surgery of any changes in your mobile telephone number. Complete a slip on the reception desk to let us know of any telephone number changes.
Flu vaccine for children
This year, the flu vaccine will be offered to all 2 and 3 year olds at the surgery. The 4, 5 and 6 year old vaccinations will be offered at school. For most children the vaccine is given as a simple nasal spray. If there are any reasons why it should not be given, an injection can be given as an alternative. If you child is eligible for the flu vaccination the surgery will contact you by letter.
Our Saturday clinics are extremely popular with our patients and we regularly vaccinate hundreds of patients on these dates. This year, we have two Saturday dates planned on:
- Saturday 7 October 2017; and
- Saturday 4 November 2017
Why don’t you come down for your flu jab then? Book an appointment with the reception team today!
However, if you are unable to attend the surgery and would like a home visit please ring the surgery on 02380 866 999 and we will be able to help.
