Dr Tony Chalmers joined Testvale Surgery in October 2019, having previously worked at Fordingbridge Surgery in the New Forest.
Dr Chalmers is an experienced GP, having been registered back in 2011. He has an interest in minor operations and joint injections and has also recently completed a training course to teach Foundation Doctors which will help him to support one of his passions, teaching, training and mentoring trainee doctors. Dr Chalmers also combines his work at Testvale Surgery with work as a sessional GP for South West Ambulance Service where he supports paramedics out on the road.
His medical career has seen him working overseas in Belize where he provided daily clinics in a country with significant health needs and a severe lack of healthcare funding. Tony has also worked in New Zealand, where he worked extensively with the Maori community.
In his spare time, Dr Chalmers loves the outdoors and is passionate about walking and cycling. He also enjoys cooking and spending time with his wife and young family.
